About Opera View

Opera View is the best address in Buxton. Located in a Grade II listed building, the two-bedroom corner apartment puts you in the stylish heart of Buxton, a stone's throw from its beautiful Opera House with superb boutiques, bars and cafes at the door. Buxton has a long-held reputation as a destination of choice for the discerning traveller. Well-to-do Georgians and Victorians escaped here for the health benefits of the natural spa waters and the social benefits of being seen in the right place. Sympathetically modernised and beautifully decorated, it's now a comfortable holiday rental for couples or small families visiting the Peak District.

Buxton is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Peak District. With its stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture, this small town in the hills offers a rich blend of art, music, theatre, and festivals that cater to all ages. Must-see attractions include the iconic Buxton Crescent, which was built by the 5th Duke of Devonshire to put Buxton on the map, the beautiful Pavilion Gardens and, of course, the historic Buxton Opera House. Explore the town's vibrant centre, incorporating the therapeutic waters at St. Ann’s Well and a leisurely stroll along the Serpentine Walks. Buxton also boasts a lively calendar of cultural events showcasing opera, music, and literature, including the Buxton Festival. For history enthusiasts, the Buxton Museum & Art Gallery and Poole’s Cavern provide fascinating insights into the town's storied past.

The wider Peak District area offers endless opportunities for adventure and exploration. As the UK’s first National Park, the Peak District is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy a variety of walking and cycling trails that cater to all levels, from the dramatic landscapes of the High Peak, including Kinder Scout and Mam Tor, to the tranquil dales like Dovedale and Monsal Dale. Historical sites abound, with grand estates such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall just a short drive away. The Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site is a must-visit for those interested in industrial heritage. Whether you seek adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, the Peak District provides a stunning backdrop for your holiday. Book your stay in our comfortable holiday apartment and experience all that Buxton and the Peak District have to offer.

Accommodation Comprises:

Opera View is a sleek corner apartment in a Grade II-listed building overlooking the oldest part of Buxton. It is on the second floor and does not have an elevator.

  • Climbing the stairs to the front door is like a history lesson; the building and lantern roof light are so beautifully preserved.
  • Open the door into the living room, where the plush carpet is complemented by the velvet sofa and two tub armchairs positioned in view of the Smart TV. Two sash windows flood the room with natural light and give you a fantastic view of the town.
  • Smart laminate floor delineates the kitchen and dining room from the seating area. The clever design packs all you need for a family self-catering break into a compact area.
  • A decorative marble fireplace is a feature of the primary bedroom. The king-sized bed features Egyptian cotton linen, and there is proper storage.
  • The second bedroom has zip-and-link beds in either a twin single or a king-sized configuration. Please state your preferred layout when booking.
  • Both bedrooms share a beautiful bathroom where there is a shower over the bath, WC and handbasin.

Additional Information: Bed linen, bath towels, WiFi and utilities are included when you book Opera View. Essential kitchen items and toiletries are also supplied. Parking is on the street outside the building. Pets and smoking are not permitted.
